On Page 232 in the Juli c't (a big german magazine
for Computer Technic) thy report a BUG in the
Run Time Library of Programs, compiled with
Borland Pascal 7.0

At Start up, they calibrate a delay loop between
two timer interrupts. The Value is 16 bit and the
counter causes an overflow for > 196 MHz.

Maybe it is the same Problem.

They shoul'd have some Programms to solve
the Problem on  WEB-Server

They also have described a method for patching an EXE file,
but changing the conter Value also changes the time generated
by the delay procedure.


Since i don't have a Pentium II, i can't try or verify
it.
