   James, the ICM7218 series (Harris 7228) supports up to 8 digits,
common anode and cathode, internal digit storage, decimal point, etc.
You can find this part from Jameco, JDR, Digikey, and other vendors.
Maxim also makes a driver, MAX7229 which provides a serial interface.
