Greetings All, We are going to be using a PIC16/17CXX as an intelligent controller for the front panel of a piece of telecommunications test gear. We need to control a large LCD ( 192 x 128 ). The PIC will also be doing keyboard scanning, LED control and sound generation. Our current design uses an OKI MSM6255 that is memory mapped in the main controllers address space. I am fishing for suggestions of other chips to use. We're looking at the Epson E1330 as a choice. The ideal chip would have: 2 or 3 wire interface 3 Volt ( with 5 volt tolerance ) Onboard character ROM ( multiple fonts? ) Best Regards, Tom +------------------------------------------+---------------------------+ | | __ _ | | Tom Hoover | / / (_)__ __ ____ __ | | Software Engineer, CSQE #330 | / /__/ / _ \/ // /\ \/ / | | Telepath Instruments | /____/_/_//_/\_,_/ /_/\_\ | | 221 South Yorkshire Street | | | Salem, Virginia 24175, USA | *For IQ's Higher Than 95* | | PHONE 540.365..0582 FAX 540.365.0505 +---------------------------+ | Email hoovert@ttc.com | | | +----------------------------------------------------------------------+
