I am looking at a possible circuit design where I would have multiple 16F84's which could access a set of 24LCXX EEPROMs. Assuming that all of the SCL and SDA lines were tied together, does anyone have a good way that I can guarantee that no two devices are trying to write at the same time? (I can make one of the 16F84's a master, but I don't think I can get two slaves to talk to one another using the I2C protocol, and passing each message through the master seems to be like it would be rather slow.)
