WHat lamp - how much volts how much amps ?

You need to consider design issues such as:-

Current drive into the SCR gate to ensure clean turn on
Safety against shock - rasied 0V potential
Safety against back emf causing spikes through the gate damaging the PIC
Snubbers
RFI
Software so that you don't try and force a short PW into the gate and
expect it to respond properly
etc
etc
