The html/rtf docs are almost unreadable, but at > least they are ascii. I cant see any justification (aaarrghh!) for binary word files either. They so often only append changes made in a number of editing sessions to the end of the file, so can get truly humongous. (and oft times, embarassing :) Word can save HTML/RTF's fairly easily now though. A group of users actually *complained* about Word 97 saving files in RTF as a default. > > > MikeS > > > ... > > Here's the opening salvo - > > We should go for increased formatting - plain ascii is sooo boring! > > Sure, boring old ascii. Since installing Office, clicking on send new mail (in MS Internet Mail) opens Word as a customised mail creator (this is, predictably, slow) Weirdly though, it doesn't process incoming mail that has HTML/RTF in it... I suppose I'll have to go trawling thru the registry to stop Word loading now > No I do not like it Sam I am! I do not like HTML/RTF mail, not in a box, > not with a fox, I do not like it Sam I am. Sam???
