The fact that Win16 and win32 programs use 16 and 32 bit word lengths is incidental to this discussion. Win16 programs will run under Windows 3.1, Win32 will not. Windows 3.1, and therefore Win16, does not offer multi-threading. MPLAB is a Win16 program.
