Hi all!


We have a little application with a PIC 16C54A and a 3.58MHz
ceramic ressonator. It works fine. But the Microchip distri-
butor in Brazil don't have stock of that component and sent
us a PIC16C54RC. They said that we can program it with the XT
option without problems.

Well, we didn't have choices, we made it, but there was a pro-
blem. At a certain point of program, we use a sleep instruction
with wake-up by watchdog (and pre-escaler=~1,2s). With the '54RC,
the oscillator don't stop. After some tests, we suspect that
the watchdog time-out is very fast and we can't see the stop
in the oscilloscope.

My question is: Can I use a 54RC with XT oscillator? Did someone
make it?
