i saw a show on pbs i think scientific frontiers with alan alda
where there is a contest to design a remote hands off airship
(helicpoter, blimp ect) to pickup five disks from a circle and fly
over a center fence then drop the disk in a circle on the other side.
most college (one high school) teams compete. to date i don't think
anyone has completed the task. but some really neat stuff.

i'm thinking of building a robot to mow the lawn. at least if something
goes wrong my project doesn't crash and burn. although my mother may
want a stronger fence to protect her flower garden.
