Today I asked my supplier if the rumor about PIC pricing was true.  He
hadn't heard anything about it, but told me he would check.

I hope its not true ... the kind of increase that was reported the other day
would be a killer in a commercial  product.  It;s the worst fear of choosing
a sole-sourced part!

I'll post what I find out.
