Those of you who are planning to whine to your Microchip reps might also want to actually LOOK at which prices increased; with few exceptions, the price increases ONLY affect parts that heve been superceded by newer versions. Also -- and this has been ignored in the brief discussion so far on the list -- some prices have gone DOWN. For instance... While the 16C73's price has increased, the 16C73A's has not. The 16C84 is more expensive than it used to be, but the 16F84 is actually CHEAPER than the "old" 16C84 price. The old 93Cx6 EEPROMs with selectable 8-bit/16-bit operation has increased in price, but the newer variants (available in EITHER 8-bit or 16-bit versions) have not. -Andy === Andrew Warren - fastfwd@ix.netcom.com === Fast Forward Engineering, Vista, California === http://www.geocities.com/SiliconValley/2499
