To overcome this, you still need to make or purchase (digi-key) a .3" to .6" adapter, and use machine pin sockets as a stack to overcome any geography conflicts with other components on the target board. Yes, the 3m (green) Textool type also have universal (.3 to .6) but at arm and leg prices, however not only are they at .6" spacings on the pins, they have a larger pin that doesn't fit into a machine pin socket, so an adapter must be made for them if you wish to ZIF then non-ZIF a target board. I do this everyday (ZIF/un-ZIF) without fail, as I find it extremely useful to test multiple Micros in different target boards.
