Of all IDE's I ever used MPLAB is most tricky to understand.
I had the same problem which was eliminated by simple reinstall
without any parallel applet running. So just exactly follow the MPLAB's
requirements.

BTW, have you ever meantioned MPLAB v3.12 have become too indiscreet?
Although many of errors have been removed, it trys to confirm any action
of mine!
