Hello, PIC masters!

I'm currently coding PIC14000. I didn't manage to utilise its hardware
support feature of I2C module, although I tried to follow the diagram in
datasheet. I'm not sure if it is possible to send data by simple writing to
I2CBUF. Please address me to some example code.
With a limited time to experiment I was to get software procs for
implementing I2C master mode. It works OK but still I would like to
understand to which extent hardware support is implemented.

more to UV erase question:
I spoil chip a month erasing PIC14000. It looks like this - first time it
erases in 30 sec. Then it takes longer and longer (up to 5 mins). Finally,
it reads "nops" and never can be erased. Any suggestions why?
