I used a friend's, and didn't like it at all.  I'm using the IcePic now,
which is
- better constructed (the emulator pod board doesn't fall out - its
internal - easily accessible, though))
- has an easier to use and less buggy PC-Windows program
- has adjustable com port speeds.
- has support for multiple files, and in general works better with C.

You get reasonable dialog when you email them.  I'm not sure if this is the
case with Parallax
