Seems to work fine at 5V but when I switch from power supply (5V) to battery (3.6V) the PIC doesn't seem to run. I programmed the PIC with my Picstart Plus. I ordered a Promate two weeks ago but due to the efficient purchasing group they haven't placed the order yet. I seem to recall something about needing a special programmer for other than 5V supply operation. Can someone please enlighten me. The data book didn't seem to. Thanks, - -Mark >> Mark, What kind of battery are you using? Size, MAH rating? I recently finished a project using the 68HC916. I had a rough time with the power consumption. If you are using lithium cells, the voltage accross the cell will change with current output. You may be dipping below the minimum voltage the Pic will run at. What is your current consumption at 5 volts? We had to use a MAX878 micro power switcher. I can get a good 3.3 volts out even if the input battery voltage drops down to .8 volts. The switcher will put out 100ma max. Hope this helps Dave Duley V.P. DreiTek Inc.
