Greetings to all on the PIC list: I have found that I can launch the PGM84.BAT, COM84.EXE, PIP-02.EXE 16C8 4 programmer software package from within the MPLAB312 IDE platform running under WINDOWS 95. I believe this will prove to be a convenient time saver. To facilitate this I first loaded the PGM84.BAT, COM84.EXE, PIP-02.EXE a nd the PIP-02.INI files into the MPLAB312 folder. To run the COM84/PIP-02 programs from within MPLAB312 one can select the TOOLS menu, then select the DOS COMMAND TO WINDOW option and enter PGM84.BAT for the program name and enter the current MPLAB312 directory path for the working directory. I found I was able to read and verify my 16C84 in the usual manner with the PIP-02 program interfaced to my very simple and inexpensive COM84 home built programmer. When one subsequently takes the steps to exit the programmer the software automatically returns to the MPLAB312 IDE platform. Although this may be old news to some I thought I would post the information anyway just in case someone else happens to be in process of trying to integrate MSDOS programmer software into MPLAB under WINDOWS 95. I would imagine other MSDOS programming software could be launched under MPLAB312 in a similar manner. Very Best Regards, Thomas M. Alldread e-mail: tmaldred@mail.comox.island.net
