ok andy - i think i've got it working. i did all as you told -

for you info :
actually i was puzzled about what you meant by

"install MPASM" ? i just have the mpasm.exe file which i use

but i simply went into windows and created an icon for it in the
same group as the pde - and it worked!

is that what you meant by install? before i simply had
mpasm.exe in the pde directory and nothing!

no idea what happened - i just created a windows icon!

anyway...

thanks heaps - now i'll try and run some i2c code
