Greetings friends,

I am wondering if anyone else has had any luck in obtaining a PIC16C556-20/P
or JW micro.  Or any 16C556 speed at all.  I have spoken with a number of
distributors, and all have no idea even on lead time.  The datasheet has
been out for quite a while, so I wonder what the hold up is.  I know I could
use one of the 16C62X devices for a substitute (16C55X are 16C62X that have
the comparators disabled), but cost is, of course, an issue.

Alternatly, anyone know of something elsethat is similar to the 16C84?  I
need 20 MHz, and have 98% of the '84's ROM used (ram isn't critical).  It's
kind of convenient to prototype on a '84 and then swap for production;
anyone else have any ideas on this?
