Let me clarify my position. 16C5X parts are less effective for hobbyist!
They require a different programmer, and different software strategies
than the 16C55X and 16C62X parts which are way more similar to the 16C84
(the almost universal first part for beginners)

If you need 100000 items, the 16C5X parts are the ticket. However if you
want to do two or three simple projects, the choice isn't nearly as clear.
