B.G. Micro still has the SP0256 chip available, in limited quantities. They also have a PC-style board that has the whole thing (text-to-speech and synthesizer) for $49.95 complete. It runs stand-alone off a serial port. I've got some of the chips and the board for development purposes, and I'm planning to use it for a wind-talker. This gizmo measures current wind speed and direction, and reports it back via ham radio when the radio detects a particular keying sequence sent to it. B.G.
