Our generic PIC programming software PIP02 is able to program 12C50x on the Hi-Lo (Tribal) ALL and FLEX series programmers. That is good news :) Bad news is that the last public release of PIP02 does not do that :( To be able to program 12C50x on generic PIC Programmers (like D. Tait, AN589, TATO, etc) ver 1.17 is required that is current version available for SiClub members And for 12C50x and ALL-07 (or FLEX or ALL-03 or MOD-EMUP) version 1.18 is required. It will be uploaded to our site tonight. WARNING! An attempt to program 12C50x with old release of PIP02 and UPT driver may damage your programmer! UPT (Universal Programmer and Tester) Driver is very experimental, and may not work for LPT connected programmers. We are testing it with MOD-EMUP, functionally it is same as ALL-07 however the interface is different. We have tested the UPT driver in ALL-07 mode with emulated ALL-07 hardware, it seems to work, but hence no garantees. At this time PIP02 ver 1.18 with UPT driver does program 12C50x devices without adapters on MOD-EMUP Programmer. And as what goes making an adapter for 12C50x to be used with hi-lo software, it aint so simple. Well if you make it and read like 16C558 then you are able to read the device, with one word shifted data. If you are able to make a 'word shifted' hexfile then it should be possible to use 16C55x algorithms to program 12C50x devices. For those are interested to have access to latest releases of PIP02 and to other software from Silicon Studio please contact some of our distributors for conditions how to become SiClub member. Other software offered free for members includes: * BS/4 Editor and firmware: A 1/4th of stamp implemented in a single 16C84 (Interpreter, 64 bytes, COM port program download) * BASCO a multi target Basic Compiler (PIC, AT89C2051, AVR, 68HC11,...) * PICSI programs a 16C84 with stamp code (PIC programmer required) * SIM2051 AT89C2051 simulator * More to be announced.
