Typical practice where I work is to connect MCLR to Vdd, using the
     shortest path possible.

     Most of our designs use the 16C5x processors, without internal
     brownout circuits.  You might wish to add an external power supply
     brownout shutdown to ensure that the processor resets properly after a
     temporary power down condition.

I am using some of the new PICS with brown out protection and want to know
if I can just tie MCLR high?  I think I have seen some designs with a
resistor to prevent latch up?  I would be interested in hearing what people
typically do...
