The web pages mentioned by other PICers recently can lead you to details on the NMEA format. There is a shareware package that you can use to exchange info with your Mac or PC. As Craig mentioned, the biggest hassle is the ripoff price for the totally non-standard connector needed to interface the unit. Reg Neale
