As a method of connecting a custom SIMM memory tester and an IBM PC I'm considering using a PIO24 I/O board to implement a parallel bidirectional data bus w/control lines. Researching this issue, I considered using ECP or EPP instead. The obvious advantage is the ability to move from one host to another without having to open the case. ECP is too complicated for this application. Does anyone have any information on EPP? 8 Bit bidirectional data transfer under host control would be ideal. Is EPP appropriate? Is EPP the same as the bidirectional mode available on PS/2 printer ports? I didn't find exactly what I needed on the web. Thanks for any thoughts on this one... -- Regards, Dana Frank Raymond
