I would have already tried the settings for the > 16c622 but I programmed all the OTP parts and shipped them out. I also want to thank Jim for his very detailed description. I'm just waiting for my 16C711 to arrive, and soon as they come I will try them and let you know about the result. > I'm looking at several different companies for a replacement. I may just stay with > Microchip and get the Plus model. Initially I was very thrilled with my Picstart plus programmer, but after using it for a while I discovered that it is still full of hiccups. For example, it would often tell me that a device is not blank when in fact it is, or after completing a complete programming cycle it would give a verify error. When I then read the programmed code back, then I discover that the device is still completely blank! Anyway, complaints aside, I think the Picstart Plus is a good idea if only for the sake of future support on the device. Microchip is even making their firmware for the programmer available on the Web, so you can always do upgrades yourself if you have an extra 17C44 lying around. This was my main motivation for deciding upon the Picstart Plus programmer. -- Werner Terreblanche Tel +27 21 7102251 Fax +27 21 721278 wterreb@plessey.co.za (work) OR werner@aztec.co.za (home) Plessey SA, PO Box 30451, Tokai 7966, Cape Town, South Africa
