That starts another chain of thought, since it's the 16J probe which
supports the '74 and '64 I wonder if it could be an emulator problem?

The test would be to select 16C74 mode and add the ADCON init stuff.
then see if RA,0 will toggle.  I might get a chance to try it later.

That might point to a problem with the 64 emulator?  (ok that's only
one possible conclusion...:-)
