The original intention of sending out a pdf version of the PIC spreadsheet was to provide a greater acceptance and readability for the majority of folks who have graphical displays (Macs, Wintels, and Unix machines), and not necessarily for those still hacking away at DOS. (I've always felt that DOS was always slightly more robust than Windows.) pdf files are compressed, as mentioned in the List before, which lends them to their portability. I can still take the input and convert it to EPS (encapsulated Postscript) with the ease that I convert it to pdf; it'll just be bigger. And mail it directly to those who do not use modern systems.
