I was able to speed up the printing of .PDF files on my Canon BJC-610 by changing the printer resolution from 360dpi to 180dpi. This produced adequate resolution and increased the speed by more than the expected 4X, possibly because of reduced print buffering. I couldn't live without .PDF either -- it's great being able to get data sheets online. I recently even printed out a 101 page Silicon Systems modem design manual, obtained from their web site. Maris
