Here in the US, there are small radio controlled (R/C) race cars & trunks. Compeitions are held at various tracks all over. Some of the tracks have computerized scoring systems where each R/C car has some sort of emitter and a (usually) PC does the score keeping. It can handle multiple cars running all at once. And the little R/C cars take some amazing tumbles and bounces and drive off (assuming they land wheels down). A kart with human on board would not be able to ignore equivalent crashes. So whatever goes on each car is almost certainly shock resistant enough for a kart. And the R/C cars are 1/8 to 1/12 scale, so it must also be small enough and light enough. Problem is that I don't have specifics of who is building & selling these systems. But you might want to check into it.
