Greetings all! I've been programming embedded MCUs - mostly 68HC05s - for over 10 years but have never yet worked with PICs! Now I need to crawl out of this hole and I have a few applications where I'd like to apply them. But there are a _few_ questions! I'm most interested in professional - read expedient - approaches. What software development choices are available for PCs? Assembler? BASIC? C? Other high-level language? I have an EE Tools AllMax programmer. It is supposedly capable of programming all PICs, although an adapter is needed for some varieties. Is this all the hardware I really need for programming? Does anyone have any experience with this programmer or comments? I'm amazed at the amount of PIC info available on various web pages, but would like more actual feedback from people, like you, who have worked with them awhile.
