Something else I should have said about Steve McConnell's "Code
Complete" book...

It has much more to do with the PHILOSOPHY of software construction
than with specific techniques.  McConnell does give a lot of
examples (mostly in Pascal, but there are a bunch of C and Ada
fragments, too), but if you're looking for a book full of handy
little routines or whatever, this ain't it.
