"In theory, there's not much difference between theory and practice; in practice, there is." Check out Discrete-Time Control Systems by Katsuhiko Ogata ISBN 0-13-216102-8 Don't judge a book by it's cover if you don't know anything about the subject. You're much better off judging it by its mass to cost ratio. It was a gamble that paid off well with Ogata's book for me several years ago. It has nearly a thousand pages to cover control theory! Plus he provides many examples (there's even a few programs in BASIC!!!). Scott
