I have been following the Studfinder thread with some interest.  Radio
Shack sells one for $24.99 (part # 64-2825) which I used several years
ago to actually find studs.  It had several LEDs to denote edge/center.


Of more interest is the Ultrasonic digital tape measure (part # 63-645 @
24.99).  "Just aim and read" should be of interest to robotic builders
with enough savvy to interface it to a pic.
