Hi all,
I have an application in which I need to drive 8 bit parallel bus
(data, address, read and write signals) from host computer via serial
interface.
Software protocol can be very simple indeed. Just reads and writes
from/to remote i/o registers (something like RS232 driven PIO and CTC).
I wanted to use PIC16C84 (the only I have and can program).
As 16C84 has only 13 lines I thought about using i/o expander I8243.
Has any one of you done similar project and would like to share the code?
BTW how much current can be borrowed from MAX232C +/- 12V pumps?
