I have a problem with MPLAB that I haven't seen anyone else experience. I obtained (without any trouble) mplab309.exe and the associated help files from the 'int-rel' directory on mchipbbs.microchip.com. I took it home and pkunziped it to a directory, my OS is win95 by the way. Upon clicking the file in Explorer, a MSDOS window opened up saying: 'Run this file using File or Program Manager' Trying to run it direct from a MSDOS prompt (with windows detection enabled) or even using the 'Run..' command were answered identically. Anybody got any ideas, or will mplab309.exe only run under win3.1? Also, in mid-May there was I lot of chat on this list concerning real-time OSes on PICs - around the time I subscribed to the list. I am now very interested in learning a bit more about this and would be very grateful if some of you who have experience in this area may give me a few helpful pointers. The PIC is the topic of my MSc dissertation so quite high-level stuff. Thanks.
