I started out using the programmer I posted to you. It works fine for
start and exploration Circuit. I'm now using the Starter Kit supplied by
microchip and the MPLAB software from the MICROCHIP site:

I've also Explored a local ICE that includes an ICE hardware board using
a PIC with dos based software. The also sell hardware and not software
so u can look at the program for demo purposes.(Let me now if you are
interested) This package also supports the typical 8051 Pseudo code that
extends the PIC ease of programming.
