I am looking for an LED alpha numeric display, 5-6 digit, that is relately low in cost. Microprocessor interface is a must. What would be ideal is a display set up for multiplexing (pins for each segment, with 5-6 pins, for selecting the which digit to activate). This would allow an easy interface to a microprocess. Another alternative could be a display interfaced with a decoder/driver IC, but cost is a concern. I would like it to run less than $10 or so. If an alphanumeric type is too expensive, a 7 segment display would be fine as long as I can form my own psuedo letters by activating selected segments, such as to make the letters b,f,E and - I would appreciate any advice or leads. Digi-key , Jameco and JDR seem to have limited selections. Thanks Neil Gandler
