The reset function wouldn't put in the correct initial address (started at 0x01 and 0x02 and never quite made 0x00) and the contents of the system registers never were the expected (as per the manual) values. This is on an IBM Thinkpad, running OS/2 Warp in the "WIN-OS2" Window. When I rebooted under DOS/Windows (using OS/2's "Boot Manager") and reloaded MPLAB, no problems.
