Dewey, You would be better off using the 16C74 instead of the 16C64 as it has the same RAM and ROM size as the 16C65. The support for the 16C65 is planned, but getting the 16C5X, the baseline 16CXX, and the 17CXX parts out in the first release was our priority. You can expect the 16C65 support, as well as the 14000 support, in a few months. I have been anxiously awaiting the release of MPLAB-SIM to begin coding and simulation. I downloaded it yesterday and unfortunately, none of the above is supported by MPLAB-SIM. I guess I'm not surprised that I2C is not supported, because it wasn't in the DOS simulator either. And the PIC14000 is still new, so that wasn't a big surprise either. But I am surprised that the 16C65 isn't supported because that was in the old simulator. Isn't this a step backward? I wonder why the 16C65 isn't in the new simulator? I suppose I can make progress using the 16C64 environment for awhile. Any ideas on when to expect a release that supports the PIC14000, and the I2C function? Dewey Davis
