I have a new Parallax programmer/SPEP software that I can't seem to get to
function.
I get a 97 or 98% erase check error on my new 16c54 otp's and epromed
version of the
16c54.  I have the Parallax UV erasure also and have left the 16c54/jw in it
for up to
1 hour.

It almost appears that the erase check may be picking up noise.  When I read
the erased
pic, the addresses randomly change from FFF to random hex numbers.

Also, about 50% of the time when I start the SPEP.exe programmer software,
the computer
locks up.  ctrl-alt-del won't unlock it, I have to press reset.  The
parallel port works
ok with my printer.

Cables and programmer were purchased from Parallax.

Does anyone have an idea of what I can do to remedy this problem?
