Recently I spoke with a higher-up at M-Chip, and he, in a round-a-bout way assured me that the problem was being solved even as we spoke. Does anyone believe/ know this to be true? I agree with the last post: If the code-protect fuses are that easily defeatable, why not just remove them? Then we're all on equal footing and can easily detect code similarity between competitors. It seems that we all are HEARING that they are easy to read; but does anyone actually have first-hand knowledge of whether these methods work reliably? It sounds as though anyone, with not much at all for equipment, can read code-protected PICS. comments?
