I happen to notice the latest parallax programmer firmware is in a 16C55/RC
and uses a 4Mhz ceramic resonator. The communication protocol through the
parallel port is a RS232 style synchronous protocol (yes, synchronous, NOT
asynchronous, scrub what I said months ago, I was wrong!). It is around the
equivelent of 57600 baud.

Impressive as it is appalling, it might give Everett something to consider
given these programmers still actually work most of the time.
