Conny:

Sorry... I guess I wasn't too clear.  Microchip uses the standard
shift-and-XOR algorithms to produce their pseudo-random sequences.

By the way, I assume from that "they (you)" bit that you may be
under the impresion that I work for Microchip.  While my company
does a fair amount of work for them, I am not an employee.  The
PROMATE software was written by Jim Pepping (and, perhaps, others)
at Microchip; as far as I know, no outside talent was utilized.
