At this point MPLAB does not include a simulator. However, we are working on a version of MPSIM that will function much the same as the emulator. If you are interested in MPLAB with the simulator, it is probably a good idea to download the MPLAB files from the Microchip BBS (including the help and the README.LAB!) and get familiar with the interface. It functions as an editor and project manager for PIC16/17 based products.
