Subject:      Connecting PIC to TV?

It's not something I would have thought of, but a friend wants
to connect a CCD to his telescope.  I have plans for doing that,
but he doesn't want to lug his whole PC with him every time
he goes out.  I told him I could use a PIC to download the CCD
(It is serial readout) and send the output to serial eeprom's.
The only problem is he would like to look at the output before
it goes to the eeprom.  A portable TV would work for this as the
CCD is rather low resolution, but I need some way to display the
data.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Circuit Cellar had an article some time ago about generating
video directly from a PIC that was monitoring wind speed, at
the same time.

You might look in some back issues.

Another thought, he might run a serial line from his PC
to the PIC (assuming the telescope is not "portable"),
to keep from having to keep image data in eeproms.
