National Semiconductor have just released an 8 bit bus FLASH memory device, 2Mbytes in size. Instead of huge banks of address bits, the device is addressed from an 8bit port, in blocks. I think you can get away with 12 I/O ports for one device, and for multiple devices 10 of these will be common. Call your local NS dealer and ask for info on NM29N16.
