Microchip has a program called mpasmwin.exe.
It is an mpasm assembler for 16 bit ms-windows.
The version I got is v01.20, and it support the most of the pic
microcontrolres.

There is a windows host programmer for the pic16c84 writen by
someone that work with hardware similar to to an589.
