      I submitted this problem to our hardware engineering people and
      got this response:

      "My guess is that he is either not initializing properly, or he
      may not have the MCLR pin tied high... The emulator takes care of
      that, so he may have a problem on his board.

      These are the two most common problems when an emulator works, but
      the real part doesn't."

      Try these suggestions and let me know.  I can help with the init
      code if that is where the problem is.
