A question was asked: > Is there a serial RAM device with the same 4 line interface: > > CLK > CS > DI > DO > > as Microship's 93LC66 (serial EEPROM)? I would like to be able to interface > such a device to a PIC. I have a 93LC66 interface working already. > Maybe there is a I*IC device as well. I would appreciate the info. Ramtron manufactures what they call FRAM (Ferro-electric RAM). It is strictly speaking a non-volatile memory, but it's rated at 10 billion read/write cycles, so one can often use it as normal RAM. It's pin compatible with Microchip/Atmel/SGS serial-access devices. Prices in South Africa are very competitive (less than USD1 for 2kbits SO8 package with I2C protocol), but I don't know who the US suppliers would be, and what the US prices are. Hope this helps.
